In Starfield, players must choose between Raised Enlightened vs. Raised Universal for a better outfit.

What Is Raised Enlightened Starfield?

Raised Enlightened is one of the traits that players must choose when they start the game.

Furthermore, players must choose the traits during their character customization, thus, it is not something you will choose after you enter the game.

Traits can also heavily dictate how you go through the game, and you must be mindful when you choose your traits.

Raised Enlightened in Starfield allows players to access a special chest in the House of the Enlightened.

According to the game, the trait reads as:

You grew up as a member of the Enlightened. You gain access to a special chest full of items in the House of the Enlightened in New Atlantis but lose access to the Sanctum Universum Chest. (Players cannot combine this trait with any other religious trait.)

If you choose this trait, you will gain access to the House of the Enlightened chest. They will find this chest after entering the well.

After entering the House of Enlightened, they must head to the center area.

Then, take a left, and players will find the House of the Enlightened chest.

After you open the chest, players will obtain some medical supplies, philosophy books and an outfit.

The main reason to open the chest is to obtain the outfit. The Inclement Weather Outfit increases the wearer’s health by ten.

This can be great if you end up in a fight and the enemy has more health than you. However, the outfit is not that exciting.

What Is Raised Universal In Starfield?

Raised Universal is another trait that players can choose from in Starfield.

Like Raised Enlightened, players must choose this trait before entering the game and during their character customization phase.

Players who choose this trait gain access to a special chest in Sanctum Universum.

According to the game, the trait reads as:

You grew up as a member of the Sanctum Universum. You gain access to a special chest full of items in the Sanctum Universum in New Atlantis but lose access to the House of the Enlightened chest. (Players cannot combine this trait with any other religious trait.)

If players choose this trait, they can access the Sanctum Universum chest.

They will find the chest on the outer wall of an office in the Sanctum Universum.

Once you find the chest, you will obtain various consumables and books.

However, the main reason to open this chest is for Neocity Urbanwear.

This outfit grants a 5% increase in oxygen recovery for the players.

Thus, if players plan on venturing out into space, where oxygen can deplete much faster, this outfit can be a great way to mitigate it.

Except for the outfit, players will not find anything else as valuable.

Raised Enlightened Vs. Raised Universal

Players can switch between the two traits if they want later in the Starfield game.

However, if we solely choose through the rewards that players can obtain from the traits.

Raised Universal seems to be a bit better. This is mainly because of the fact that the outfit that the Sanctum of Universum provides increases the recovery of oxygen by 5%.

Furthermore, early on, players may not find the gear that will increase their oxygen recovery rate as much as the outfit from the Sanctum of Universum.

Thus, from an early game standpoint, players may choose the Raised Universal over the Raised Enlightened.

Furthermore, players may also choose the outfit depending on their play style.

Some players may be able to micro-manage their oxygen levels but not their health. Thus, they may choose the Raised Enlightened instead.

Furthermore, getting a better oxygen recovery rate early on can be more beneficial than an increment to health.

Additionally, players can obtain both outfits from the game if they choose to switch between the two traits.

Players can talk with Keeper Aquilus to remove the Raised Universal trait after obtaining the outfit and then take the Raised Enlightened trait.

If players choose the Raised Enlightened trait, they can go to Andy Singh and remove it after obtaining the outfit.

Thus, choosing one or the other is not that big of a deal since you can switch them whenever you want.

The Bottom Line

Traits like Raised Enlightened and Raised Universal can be hard for players.

However, Starfield allows players to switch traits, so they can choose the one they prefer without worrying.

Furthermore, we cannot discern between the two traits that one is better and the other is not because of the rewards.

Players can swap between the two, so rewards are not that much of an issue.

Hopefully, this article can guide you in understanding the difference between Raised Universal and Raised Enlightened in Starfield.
