What Is Crucible In Destiny 2?

Crucible is the PVP mode in Destiny 2. In this mode, the guardians will face off with other guardians.

The mode contains various maps for players to choose from and battle in.

Furthermore, the crucible mode also features a new and updated HUD, which provides more information than your normal HUD.

Here is a list of information that players can obtain in the Crucible mode in Destiny 2:

  1. You can see if your enemies have their supers up or not.
  2. You can see if your enemies picked up heavy ammo.
  3. While reviving an ally or interacting with an ammo crate, if you take damage, it will interrupt the process.

There are other changes to the crucible mode that are not available in the normal game.

However, they are strictly limited to the crucible mode of the game rather than the base PVE game.

Additionally, there are multiple types of Crucible mode. They are Breakthrough, Countdown, and Survival.

Each of the modes features its own unique mechanics for the PVP side of the game.

But, the majority of them also have more or so the same mechanics.

Thus, players can simply hop on any of the modes and not feel as though they are learning something new.

Types Of Crucible Modes In Destiny 2

As mentioned before, there are three types of Crucible mode. However, within those modes, there is more to it.

Here is a list of all crucible modes in Destiny 2:

1. Breakthrough

Breakthrough mode is a 4v4 mode for the crucible mode of Destiny 2.

This mode contains four different modes that players can choose from:

  • The Citadel
  • Convergence
  • Equinox
  • Firebase Echo
  • Gambler’s Ruin

In breakthrough mode, players must capture a zone in the center of the map.

After capturing the zone, players can work together and deploy the Breaker.

Players from the other team can step in to stop the breaker from deploying.

2. Countdown

Countdown mode allows the players to revive only once throughout the game.

The mode’s objective is to defend/disarm a charge each round.

The first team to complete/win six rounds will win the game.

Each round will last 1 minute and 30 seconds.

3. Survival

In survival mode, players share a pool of four revives. One of the lives will be used whenever a player gets taken down.

Furthermore, activating a revive will take seven seconds, and players cannot refuse the revive.

Players win the mode by winning four rounds.

Players can win each round by having more revives than the other team or simply depleting all revives of the opposing team.
